For all those Huawei users out there, March is going to be an exciting month. Huawei has confirmed the launch of its new flagship phone, the P20. The company has sent out press invites for the exclusive launch of its latest model in the ‘P’ series. However, this means that the phone will not be displayed at the Mobile World Congress which is dated to occur in the last week of February till the 1st of March, 2018. Huawei has chosen to delay the launch for a few weeks after the MWC is held.
STRAIGHT FROM P10 TO P20?
The P20 also alternatively known as the P11 is the next phone after P10 in Huawei’s line of smartphones. According to analysts, a direct jump from P10 to P20 means a lot of upgrades and improvements from the previous model. Roland Quandt, a well-known analyst mentioned earlier that this time Huawei is working on not just one but three phones; the P11/P20, the P11/P20 Lite and the P11/P20 Plus. The ambiguity over what the official name of the phone will remain. However, according to filings for registration Huawei has registered its phone with the title P20.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE P20?
The P20 is expected to have a triple rear camera, a feat unconquered by the likes of Samsung and iPhone. The cameras will capture the picture at the same time resulting in a 40 Megapixel image. Such high-end camera technology will also enable the phone to do a 5x hybrid zoom. The smartphone will also feature a 24MP front camera.
In terms of processors and software, the P20 will house HI Silicon Kirin 970, since the Kirin 980 is yet to be released. The Android software will be Oreo.
The price of this smartphone is yet to be known. It will officially be launched on 27th March at the Huawei headquarters.
