Careem is not the pioneer in offering bikes as a ride service. Bykea is already operational in other cities of Pakistan, however being the most popular transport providing company it has included bikes in its transport list so that everyone’s needs can be catered to. The bike service has previously been operational in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad.
It was introduced in Faisalabad, the third most populated city in Pakistan and a rising metropolis.
CAREEM BIKE- MORE THAN JUST A BIKE RIDE
It was noted that more than a hundred bikers wearing green jackets and holding “Careem Flags” were part of a rally in Faisalabad on Tuesday 20th February 2018. This was a promotional act for the bike service being introduced in the city.
On the surface for Careem customers the bike is another means of transportation but more than this it has helped give jobs to many individuals who come from a low economic background. Careem has aimed at including all strata of society to become a part of the company in more ways than one.
The Bike drivers have to undergo a strict evaluation process, submit all documents of their bikes as well as their identity cards. They are given strict instructions regarding harassment and safety rules.
HOW LOW IS THE FARE?
Careem Bike is the cheapest from amongst all its options. A flat fare of Rs.25 is charged, a further Rs.4 per KM and Rs.250 per hour if the rider is made to wait.
