All set and ready to launch on May 7, 2019, the Google Pixel 3A and Google Pixel 3A XL are already a hot topic in the tech market. With rumours and leaks about the specifications, the Google Pixel 3A has been the subject of much speculation. Here is what we know about the latest phone by Google.
What’s really true about the Pixel 3a specifications?
As per the images that are floating on the internet, the Google Pixel 3a appears to be a rather slim phone. However, the bezels are back in fashion with this model of the Pixel range. Also, Google has once again placed its focus on designing their phones with a plastic body as opposed to giving them a glass finish.
Termed as ‘mid-tier’ phones, the Google Pixel 3a is expected to be priced between $500 -$600. This is a step down from the Google Pixel 3 which came out last year. The official price has not been disclosed yet.
In terms of size, the Google Pixel 3a will feature a 5.6-inch screen which is almost the same as the 5.5-inch screen the Pixel 3 sported. The screen resolution is expected to be 2220 x 1080 with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The phone is packed with a 3000 mAh battery, and 64 GB of internal storage. It will also feature 4 GB RAM, which is quite good for a mid-range phone.
Google has added an octa-core processor powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 chipset in the Pixel 3a. Up front, the processor specifications do not promise a very efficient performance, but the final verdict will only be given once the phone has been tried and tested. The Snapdragon 670 is presumed to be a mid-range chipset which was launched in 2018.
Google Pixel 3a will have the feature of “Active Edge” – understood as squeezable sides of the phone. Camera specifications are expected to be the same as that of Pixel 3. A 12.2 MP rear camera, which has almost become a signature feature of the Pixel phones.
The phone will come pre-installed with Android 9 Pie.
Google Pixel 3a- What’s new?
Based on the information that is already known about the phone, there is nothing too special coming our way with this year’s Pixel launch. Except for the fact that Google has re-introduced bezels and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The final call whether the Google Pixel 3a is worth buying or not will only be decided once the official price is announced.
