The news of a confirmed S8 launch date, March 29, to be exact, has been making the rounds lately. In other words, we are only two weeks away from the official unveiling of Samsung’s next flagship phone, which in plain English means, that the Samsung Galaxy S8 is almost upon us.
If you are an avid Android lover, sit back and harness the joy of anticipation as we run you through some of the exciting features of S8 that have been given away by a series of recent leaks.
The new Samsung Galaxy S8 will flaunt the most elegant design with utterly narrow front bezels and no home button. Further, the model will come with 3D-curved cover glass and six cutouts at the top front, one each for a proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, IR-LED transmitter and receiver for iris-scanner recognition, front camera and receiver.
Display Size & Resolution
The models of S8 series , Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ will each sport a whopping QHD+ (2400×2960 pixels) SUPER AMOLED display, with screen sizes as big as 5.8” and 6.2” respectively. Unlike last year’s Samsung Galaxy S7 that had a flat display panel, these new phones will both have a rounded front and back.
This year’s Galaxy S8 and S8+ are expected to come equipped with 12MP Dual Pixel rear camera, and an 8MP front-facing camera.
The U.S, Japanese and Chinese models will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, while Samsung’s own Exynos 8895 chipset will run the show in Europe and the rest of Asia. In most regions, the phones will come with 4G RAM option, while the 6GB RAM variants will be exclusive to China and South Korea only.
According to the reports, Samsung’s new flagship phones will pack bigger and better batteries, 3000mAh in the Galaxy S8 and 3,500mAh in the S8+.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ are expected to be available in Gold, Silver, Bright Black, Matte Black, Blue, Orchid, and Pink colour variants.
The reports say that the phones will go on sale on April 21.
