Selecto, a proudly Pakistani company, is celebrating its 40th birthday this week. In June, 1977, Aftab Ahmed founded Selecto, a company focused on affordable, reliable, warrantied electronics at best prices.

Visiting Selecto again and again and never getting disappointed in terms of product quality, warranty claims, customer service, and prices, the customers became Selecto’s primary and only brand ambassadors.
Initially, Ahmed opened various shops in Faisalabad but realizing the demand as well as the trust of the community in Selecto, he decided to expand Selecto to other cities in the province.
Soon after Faisalabad, Selecto stores opened up in Jaranwala, Chiniot and Gojra. And now, the latest feather added to Ahmed’s cap is Selecto’s very own display center in Lahore’s Emporium Mall.
Ahmed has handed over the reins of Selecto to his son, Zain Aftab, who is one of the partners in Smartlink as well, the company that has officially partnered with Xiaomi China to launch Mi Phones in Pakistan.
Zain, who is a Business Studies graduate from Lahore University of Management Sciences and completed his postgraduate from Strathclyde Business School, UK, combines years of experience in retail and wholesale smartphone industry with topnotch ideas and education.
“I want to build on the bond of trust that my father has gelled with our customers. I have seen generations of families preferring Selecto over any other store and this blind faith just propels us to go to extraordinary lengths for our customers,” Zain expressed his vision for the company.
“Many a times I have been instructed by the top management to give full refunds to customers just to make them happy. Never has the CEO compromised on customer service and I can very proudly say that we are the most trusted brand in electronics in the market,” said Muhammad Imran, the regional sales manager who has been working with the company for the last 20 years.
Selecto recently launched its website, www.selecto.pk, and is now successfully delivering its products to people all over Pakistan. Not only that, but the company also has the fastest delivery service which beats that of topnotch ecommerce platforms in the country.
The staff at Selecto, beginning from the CEO all the way to sales and warehouse staff, has planned a variety of activities to celebrate Selecto’s 40th birthday with the customers.
