Samsung has added more fuel to the fire technology advancement. Establishing its place as the “tech giant” in the phones market, Samsung vouches to introduce “foldable touchscreen phones”. Yes, you read this right. This is an unconquered feat until now but Samsung has broken the ice leaving Apple behind as well. Previously known as “project valley” the idea of a bendable phone has been in the pipeline for a long while.
The idea of a “foldable” phone which can be used as a tablet when expanded and a regular phone when doubled has been floating around since the CES 2012 festival. What’s causing the delay is adding technical perfection to the smartphone. Samsung has released various videos featuring the idea of their new venture which show how the phone remains intact even after 100,000 times of folding and maintains its screen resolution.
The foldable galaxy phone namely “Galaxy X” is expected to be finally launched in 2019. Equipped with the latest technology, fastest available Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, polished front and rear cameras along with the newest Android software. The phone will not have a removable battery as per the norm of smartphones now but it will have a micro SD card slot.
Samsung has been experimenting with curved edged phone and tilted screens since its launch of the Galaxy S6 edge and almost reached perfection with its handset Galaxy S7 edge. The idea behind a foldable phone is to provide the advanced modern user with a 2 in 1 experience and to rid him of the hassle of carrying around a tablet for more expanded screen work.
There is lots of talk surrounding the launch of this new asset. It is rumoured that Apple will closely watch the performance of Samsung’s phone before stepping into the production of a foldable iPhone. For now, Samsung is leading the game.
